Rescue Pondy people stuck in Sudan, CM urges Centre

PUDUCHERRY: Chief minister N Rangasamy has written to the Union government to initiate efforts to rescue people from the Union territory of Puducherry, who have been stranded in the war-torn Sudan.
"I wholeheartedly welcome and appreciate the serious efforts that the Union ministry of external affairs has launched to rescue Indians stranded in strife-torn Sudan. At this juncture, I request you to take immediate action to rescue all those belonging to Union territory of Puducherry who are now stranded in Sudan and send them to Puducherry.I hope your immediate action will bring relief and confidence to the people of UT of Puducherry," said Rangasamy in the letter to Union external affairs minister S Jaishankar.
