N Rangasamy has written to the Union government to initiate efforts to rescue people from the Union territory of
Puducherry, who have been stranded in the war-torn Sudan.
"I wholeheartedly welcome and appreciate the serious efforts that the Union ministry of external affairs has launched to rescue Indians stranded in strife-torn Sudan. At this juncture, I request you to take immediate action to rescue all those belonging to Union territory of Puducherry who are now stranded in Sudan and send them to Puducherry.
I hope your immediate action will bring relief and confidence to the people of UT of Puducherry," said Rangasamy in the letter to Union external affairs minister S
