SP for booking of Sena under Pota

JEHANABAD: The new SP of Arwal, Amitabh Kumar Das, has submitted a proposal to the state government to include the outlawed Ranvir Sena, a private militia of upper caste landlords in the list of terrorist organisations notified under section 18 of the Prevention of Terrorism Act (Pota).

JEHANABAD: The new SP of Arwal, Amitabh Kumar Das, has submitted a proposal to the state government to include the outlawed Ranvir Sena, a private militia of upper caste landlords in the list of terrorist organisations notified under section 18 of the Prevention of Terrorism Act (Pota). Copies of the proposal have also been sent to the IG (headquarters and legal affairs), IG (special), IG (operation), IG (Patna range), commissioner (Magadh division) and the Amir Das Commission probing the political connections of the Sena.

Giving this information to newsmen at Arwal on Sunday, Das said that it was intriguing that even after mowing down 290 persons in mass killings, the banned Ranvir Sena is yet to be enlisted as a terrorist organisation under Pota while the other two similar banned organisations - the Maoist Communist Centre (MCC) and People's War Group (PWG) - have been already notified as terrorist outfits undr the Pota. "Peace cannot be restored in Arwal and its neighbouring areas unless the Sena is included in the list of terrorist organisations and dealt with sternly under the provisions of the Pota, he observed.
