PATNA: Chief minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated three government premises at different locations in the state capital on Tuesday.
Accompanied by deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and other cabinet colleagues, Nitish first reached New Gardiner Road and inaugurated the ‘Kar Bhawan’ (taxes building) built at the cost of Rs43.76 crore. The CM also inspected different parts of the Kar Bhawan, including the chambers meant for different officers and space for offices.

He also inspected the record room, meeting hall, training hall, library, auditorium and the guesthouse there. The CM also planted a sapling on the premises of the Kar Bhawan, which is spread in an area of 1.37 acres.
The CM then inaugurated 48 E-type senior officers’ residences and 432 A-type fourth grade staff quarters at Gardanibagh. These quarters are coming up in an sprawling area of 13 acres. A total amount of Rs 518 crore would be spent on these residential premises, a building construction department official said.
The CM also inaugurated the ‘Transport complex’ built at the cost of Rs164 crore in Phulwarisharif. It will house many offices and training centre of the transport department. The entire campus has been built on the quake resistance technology.
The complex would house the headquarters of the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC), office of the Patna district transport officer, office of the driving testing centre, bus terminal and residential quarters of the BSRTC officers and employees.
Nitish inspected different parts of the complex and enquired from the officials about the facilities made available there.
The CM asked the officials to raise the complex’s wall from the Phulwarisharif jail side to such a level that no one from the jail could see any activities in the transport complex. He also ordered for raising the wall from the airport side.
State’s finance minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, building construction minister Ashok Choudhary and transport minister Sheela Kumari and senior officials of the departments concerned were present on the occasion.
