Mobile seized from jail inmate

Beur jail officials seized a mobile phone from the possession of an inmate, Ravi Kumar, from the Yamuna ward. Kumar is an accused in a bank dacoity case.

PATNA: Beur jail officials on Friday seized a mobile phone from the possession of an inmate, Ravi Kumar, from the Yamuna ward. Kumar is an accused in a bank dacoity case. Rana Awadhesh Singh, who has been put in the same ward and also accused of bank dacoity, and Kumar accepted before the jail officials that they used to use the phone to remain in touch with their friends.
"A case has been lodged against Kumar with the local police station," a Beur jail official said and added that more surprise raids would be conducted in days to come to book the inmates violating jail manual.

Meanwhile, an eight-day Art of Living training camp got underway on the jail premises on Thursday. The first day witnessed presence of good number of inmates taking part in the camp, jail sources said.
