Guard killed, Rs 14 lakh snatched from ATM staffers in Bihar's Kaimur

PATNA: Armed miscreants shot dead a guard and looted Rs14 lakh from the ATM refilling employees at Bhabhua in Kaimur district on Saturday.
The incident took place when money was being taken from a cash van to an ATM of Punjab National Bank near Purab Pokhara under Bhabhua police station area. The criminals fired three rounds in the air and entered the ATM, took the bag containing the cash and escaped by snatching the guard's weapon.
Kaimur SP Lalit Mohan Sharma told TOI the incident happened around 1.30pm, when the bank officials were refilling cash in the ATM.

"Three criminals on a bike reached there when the guard, Baban, was sitting outside the ATM kiosk while another guard was sitting in the cash van. The miscreants threw chilli powder in the eyes of one guard and fired at another one outside the ATM. They snatched the bag containing Rs 13-14 lakh from the employees and escaped with the guard's weapon," he said.
