Gaya: Even as the Gaya chapter of Indian Medical Association (IMA) expressed unawareness about the alleged extortion threat received by Vibha Kumari, wife of Dr Satendra Kumar, professor and head of neuro surgery dept, Anugrah Narain Magadh Medical College and Hospital (ANMMCH), local police expect early breakthrough in the case.
When asked, Dr Ashok Kumar, president of the Gaya chapter of the IMA, said Dr Satendra Kumar has not approached for help of the medical fraternity and he came to know about it from the newspapers.

According to Krishna Kumar, SHO of the Medical College police station, the local police, in coordination with the cyber cell of the district police was actively engaged in finding the truth and he expected early results in the matter. The SHO refused to divulge the findings of the ongoing investigation.
Sources said that call detail records of several people, including the doctor, his wife, a woman pharmacist, stakeholders of a property in the Gewalbigha locality of the town, some family members, relatives and friends of the doctor couple are being scanned to solve the case and verify the veracity of the claims made in the FIR.
Two points that have raised eyebrows pertain to the time gap between the alleged offence and its report to the police.
The first alleged extortion call was received on Dec 27, but the complaint was lodged 10 days later.
Asked whether he was satisfied with the progress of the investigation, Dr Satendra Kumar said his personal satisfaction was not important. “The only important thing was that the culprit should be brought to book,” he said, adding his wife’s statement has been recorded by the police. He refused to answer the question whether his wife supported the contents of the complaint made by him.
