PATNA: Congress workers from Nalanda staged a dharna at the party’s state headquarters on Wednesday against the decision to leave the seat for Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) led by former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi.
The protesters were said to be the supporters of Nalanda district
Congress president Dilip Kumar. “HAM(S) has no visibility in Nalanda. If this seat is given to us, we will surely win,” said one of Dilip’s supporters.
Bihar Congress spokesperson Rajesh Rathore said, “They are all loyal Congress workers and had come to place their demand to state Congress president Madan Mohan Jha and the party high command.
In fact, our state president had conversation with them over phone and will meet them after coming back to Patna.”
This is not for the first time that supporters of a particular Congress leader created ruckus in the party office. After the seats of first phase were announced by the Grand Alliance and Aurangabad was given to HAM(S), supporters of former Kerala governor Nikhil Kumar had expressed their anger.
