Clash in marriage party, one dies
One member of a marriage party was killed and another injured in a group clash at B M Das Road under on Sunday night.
However, neither the Pirbahore police station had any idea about the incident nor the officer incharge, Nisar Ahmad, could be contacted as his cellphone was switched off.
Town DSP Sushant Saroj identified the deceased as Mohd Irfan.
According to reports, the baarat had come to BM Das Road from Rampur (Saidpur) locality. Irfan, who was dead drunk, had an altercation with the other youth. Irfan opened fire causing serious injuries to the latter.
Agitated over the incident, some of the baaratis mercilessly assaulted Irfan who died instantly. Later, the assailants escaped from the spot.
