Bihar woman burned alive, four villagers arrested

A 56-year-old woman was burned to death in her hut by co-villagers at Suiya Tola under Shahpur police station area in Bhojpur district on Wednesday night. Four persons have been arrested.

ARA: A 56-year-old woman was burned to death in her hut by co-villagers at Suiya Tola under Shahpur police station area in Bhojpur district on Wednesday night. Four persons have been arrested.
Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar on Thursday said, "On Wednesday at 8.20pm, two groups clashed at Suhiya. Main accused Santosh Choudhary dragged the woman named Vimla Devi (56), wife of one Nanhak Dom, by her hand, At night, Santosh with 9 others set afire her thatched house in which Vimla was sleeping.

She died inside."
The SP said the Santosh, his brother Govinda Choudhary, Dhanji Choudhary and Saroj Choudhary of Suhiya were arrested.
He further said: "As per initial investigation, a fight broke out between two groups from Dom Basti and Bind Tola in Suiya over some issue. Four persons are undergoing treatment at local hospitals."
SAP driver shot at: A 40-year-old Special Auxiliary Police (SAP) jawan named Sanjay Prakash was shot at in Gausganj Gangi locality under the Town police station area. He is a Dial 112 police vehicle driver deputed at Ara Town police station.
Bhojpur SP said Sanjay was shot at in his legs at about 2pm on Wednesday when he tried to intervene in a dispute over money matter among some persons of his acquaintance. "A house adjacent to Sanjay's is being built. A contractor of his acquaintance and some other persons were having an altercation over money. As Sanjay tried to make them understand they became angry and shot at him."

The SP added: "An FIR has been lodged. Some illicit liquor bottles had been found from the spot and two persons were found drunk. Action will be taken against them under the relevant sections of law against them."
JD(U) neta killed accidentally: One Deepak Kumar alias Bhikhari Singh (32), who was former Yuva JD( U) Tarari block president, died when his own weapon went off accidentally at his Fatehpur Bazaar rsidence in Kurmuri village under Sikarhatta police station area on Tuesday.
The SP said Deepak died due to too much loss of blood. It was found out that in the evening,
Deepak had a quarrel with somebody. In a fit of rage he came inside his room to take his weapon. It accidentally went off and the bullet hit his legs that resulted in his death later.
Sikarhatta police station SHO Pawan Kumar said no FIR has been lodged by the family members of the deceased yet. "We are investigating the case," he said.
