8,000 likely to attend Lok Adalat in Bihar's Aurangabad on May 13

AURANGABAD: Around 8,000 litigants have been issued summons to appear in the National Lok Adalat to be held on May 13 at the district and Daudnagar subdivision headquarters, where 4,000 cases have been scrutinised for the disposal.
District judge Sampurnanand Tiwari and secretary of District Legal Services Authority, Pranav Shankar in a joint statement said, "Altogether 1,685 criminal cases are being sent to Lok Adalat, which are compoundable.

Along with this, about 2,500 cases related to banks, pending in district courts, will also be sent to the Lok Adalat."
Tiwari said 12 special benches have been constituted in Aurangabad for this Lok Adalat, in which nine benches will be on Aurangabad district court premises and three benches on the Daudnagar subdivision court premises. "In all these benches, cases related to criminal compoundable litigation, matrimonial litigation, Motor Vehicles Act, insurance claims, family disputes, etc. will be disposed of," he said.
Apart from this, a mega health camp will also be organized at the Lok Adalat in which a team of doctors will provide free medical check-up to all the people. Tiwari said, to make this Lok Adalat a success, a wide publicity campaign was launched at the district level, which is showing good results.
