650 big holding tax defaulters owe Rs 10 crore to PMC

PATNA: The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has made an appeal to holding tax defaulters to pay the pending amount by January 15 or their properties will be confiscated. The civic body has also opened two counters in each circle for ensuring hassle-free payment of holding tax. People can pay their tax either online — https://pmcptax.bihar.gov.in/pmc/public — or at the offices and tax collection centres of the PMC. Besides, an appeal has been made to people not to pay any tax amount to tax collectors of private firm Sparrow Softech Private Limited, as its contract with PMC ended.According to a PMC statement on Friday, notices have recently been served on about 650 big defaulters, who owe more than Rs 10 crore of holding tax. The list of the properties of all such defaulters has been provided to the officers concerned. People can also call on toll-free number of PMC-- 155304 — in case of any query regarding holding tax payment.
