Patna: 4 criminals held with brown sugar, arms

Police on Tuesday arrested four criminals for their alleged involvement in a robbery at a timber shop at Pirmuhani under the Gandhi Maidan police station area in Patna on February 28. Several looted items and Rs 50,000 in cash were recovered from them.

PATNA: Police on Tuesday arrested four criminals for their alleged involvement in a robbery at a timber shop at Pirmuhani under the Gandhi Maidan police station area in Patna on February 28. Several looted items and Rs 50,000 in cash were recovered from them.
The arrested criminals were identified as Chotu Dom, Rocky Kumar, Deepak Dom and Mohd Afsar.

Patna SSP Manavjit Singh Dhillon said more than 28 cases are registered against the arrested criminals. “Forty-five bags of brown sugar, a country-made pistol, a live cartridge, three sharp weapons, looted cash, cellphones and wire were recovered from the possession of the arrested criminals,” the SSP added.
SHO of Gandhi Maidan police station Ranjit Vats said the criminals were identified with the help of CCTV footage.
Man stabbed: A drug-addict stabbed a man after the latter resisted his loot bid at Malahi Pakri under the Kankarbagh police station area in Patna in the wee hours of Tuesday. The victim was identified as Shantanu Singh. Police said the accused, Balram Kumar, was arrested.
“The accused, who lives in MIG Colony, had entered Singh’s house with an intention of robbery. When Singh resisted, he stabbed him with a knife and tried to escape. However, the family members caught hold of him and informed the police. The man was later arrested,” SHO of Kankarbagh police station, Ravishankar, said.
