NOIDA: Police on Friday claimed to have cracked the murder of Amity student Ramaraju Sandesh by arresting two prime suspects in the case - Aman, a student of the same university, and his childhood friend Monty. Cops said the duo was nabbed near the Government PG College in Noida's Sector 39. The murder weapons - a country-made gun and a hatchet - were also recovered from their possession.Sandesh, who hailed from Telangana, was shot dead in his flat in an upscale residential colony in Noida's Sector 100 on October 17. The 21-year-old second-year BSc (marine sciences) student lived on the 13th floor of Lotus Boulevard with two of his friends.According to police, 19-year-old Aman has confessed that he had conspired with 20-year-old Monty, both residents of Panipat in Haryana, and killed Sandesh over personal enmity.SP (city) Dinesh Yadav said Sandesh and Aman knew each other as they had lived in the same hostel in 2014. Sandesh had later moved to the flat in Lotus Boulevard and Aman also shifted to another flat."Around a month ago, Sandesh had organised a party in his flat and invited Aman and some of his friends.
Under influence of alcohol, Aman picked up a fight with Sandesh. Sandesh and his friends scolded him and threatened to push him from the 13th floor in front of all party guests," he said. The matter did not end there. Aman has claimed that Sandesh used to mock him regularly over that incident; unable to bear it, he had hatched a plan with Monty to kill Sandesh, police said."The duo bought a country-made revolver and a hatchet from Hapur for Rs 5,500. They hid the weapons in a bag and reached the victim's flat. Aman rang the door bell. As soon as Sandesh opened the door, they fired two bullets at him and also attacked him with the hatchet, before fleeing from the spot," Yadav said.Sandesh suffered critical injuries on his head and fell on the floor in a pool of blood. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared brought dead. Sandesh's flat-mate Nadeem told police that it was Aman and his friend who had attacked him.
