Special ST bus service from Panvel to Alibaug

NAVI MUMBAI: The State Transport (ST) has started a special conductor-less non-stop bus service between Panvel and Alibaug, scheduled every half an hour. As many as 32 trips have been scheduled everyday starting from 6am.
Panvel ST bus depot manager, Rajendra G Pardesi, said, “The service has been started on an experimental basis due to public demand.There is no fixed time limit. These are additional 44-seat buses.” He added that one bus will depart every 30 minutes from Alibaug and Panvel depots. Commuters will have to buy the tickets at depots in advance.
The Panvel Pravasi Sangh head, Dr B K Dave, said that the service will help in reducing travel time. “People will not have to stand in the buses as only those have booked tickets can travel in these buses,” he added.
