Mentally challenged teen ‘raped’ in Panvel

NAVI MUMBAI: A 19-year-old mentally challenged girl, residing in Maldhakka area in Panvel taluka, has been allegelly raped by some unidentified person.
The incident came to light on Saturday after the girl complained of abdominal pain and her elder sister took her to a private practitioner.
After examining her, the doctor declared that the teenager was four months pregnant.
Acting on a complaint lodged by the girl's sister, the Panvel city police have registered a rape case under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code.
The cops are investigating the case. Men, who used to visit the girl's house or had befriended her, are being questioned.
