Both were neighbours in Chembur. Shaikh owed Singsani Rs3.5 lakh. On June 2, 2016, Singsani took Shaikh to Kalundre village under the pretext of taking up a building construction project. After checking out the project site, Singsani offered Shaikh a liquor treat at an isolated place in the vicinity of the railway tracks.
“As Shaikh got drunk, Singsani stabbed him with a knife on his head and forehead, strangulated him with a cloth and dumped his body in the drainage by the railway tracks near the temple in Kalundre village.
