Gold, cash worth Rs 2 lakh robbed from Panvel house

NAVI MUMBAI: A thief broke into the house of Sunanda Maruti Kamble (66), residing alone in Kon village, and decamped with her gold ornaments and cash collectively worth Rs 2.17 lakh. The incident occurred on Sunday night, when Kamble was not at home.
Acting on a complaint lodged by Kamble, the Panvel city police registered a house break-in case.
Kamble had gone to stay at her relative's house and when she returned home on Monday at 8 pm, she found the door lock was broken.
The thief had even searched the utensils and managed to lay his hand on the gold and Rs17,000 kept in a bag.
