NASHIK: A 53-year-old paan stall owner in Malegaon died on Friday after being beaten by an unidentified man following a minor argument over a Rs 10 coin.
The victim, Saeed Ahmed Abdul Hamid, was running his paan stall at Sardar chowk for several years. Around 8pm, the assailant came to his stall asking for a sachet of tobacco costing Rs 10. On getting a Rs 20 note from the man, Hamid returned him a Rs 10 coin.
However, the assailant began demanding that he wanted a Rs 10 note and not a coin.

An argument broke out following which the assailant dealt severe blows to Hamid on his face before fleeing.
Soon after the incident, bystanders took a profusely-bleeding Hamid to the government hospital in Manmad where he was declared brought dead.
Police inspector V N Thakurwad of the Malegaon city police station, who is investigating the case, said one Shaikh Muzaffar Shaikh Mustafa, who had witnessed the assault, lodged a complaint.
The complaint said that some other persons were accompanying the assailant. The police have launched a search for the assailant.
