'SMEs need to go for IPO for branding, visibility and business growth'

The Small Medium Enterprises in the country needs to go for Initial Public Offer (IPO) as it not only help raise capital, but also help branding, visibility in the market and boost business growth of the company, said Seema Nayam, head, Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs), National Stock Exchange (NSE).

NASHIK: The Small Medium Enterprises in the country needs to go for Initial Public Offer (IPO) as it not only help raise capital, but also help branding, visibility in the market and boost business growth of the company, said Seema Nayam, head, Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs), National Stock Exchange (NSE).
Seema Nayak was here in Nashik to address the gathering of entrepreneurs during the seminar on importance of IPO for the growth of the SMEs, held recently at the Office of the Nashik Industries & Manufacturers' Association (NIMA) - 'NIMA House'.

Nayak, in her speech, explained the importance of the SMEs for the growth of the economy of the country. She said, "Around 40 per cent of total export comes from the micro, small and medium enterprises in the country (MSMEs).
Moreover, the MSMEs sector provides maximum number of jobs to the people. Nevertheless, this sector is facing various challenges, including raising of capital." She added, "The MSMEs have to depend upon banking sector for finance, but there are limitations of getting finance through banks.
Nayak said, "There are various benefits of the listing of the SMEs on the stock exchange. The listing of the entity not only help raising finance, but also help the company concerned for its branding, visibility in the market and also boost the business growth."
Rajad Baid, Asst Vice President, Hem Securities, Mumbai, informed entrepreneurs how to get listed with the stock exchange and what are norms for the purpose.
Sanjiv Narang, NIMA president, appealed to industries to use the 'Emerge' platform of the NSE to get listed and raise fiancé through IPO.
