This is in accordance with the government resolution of 2009. The charter should have information about all the departments and their services to the citizens. But the NMC has not yet done so. That is why we have displayed it in flex boards," said Rajesh Pandit, a volunteer. Nishikant Pagare, another volunteer, said that they had spent Rs 500 for preparing the flex and would demand the amount from the NMC.
Pandit said that the citizens should be aware of their rights and should know which department or person to contact if they need any help.
Late in the afternoon, members of the Bhrashtachar Virodhi Jan Andolan Nyas met deputy municipal commissioner Haribhau Phadol who gave in writing that the NMC would put up the citizens' charter within eight days. He also agreed to keep the flex board till the NMC puts up theirs.
"We have already issued directions to the concerned offices about this and in eight days the charter will be ready for display," Phadol said.
