Nashik: An unidentified person on Saturday afternoon smashed the window of a car and stole cash and other articles worth Rs7 lakh kept in the vehicle in Deolali Camp.
The Deolali Camp police registered a case of theft against the unidentified burglar.

The complainant, a 32-year-old industrialist and resident of Jail Road, Nashik Road, parked his car outside a boutique along Gurudwara Road in Deolali Camp.
While the car was parked outside the boutique, an unidentified suspect broke the window of one of the rear doors and stole two biscuits of silver worth Rs5 lakh and cash of over Rs2 lakh kept in a purse on the rear seat of the vehicle, then fled from the scene.
The police said they would check the CCTV footage of the area to ascertain the burglars involved in the theft. The police also said there were similar incidents in the past.
There are certain people who come into the city, commit 2 to 3 such thefts by breaking the glass of cars without getting noticed by anyone, and escape from the city before the police gets into alert mode. Police officials said they would try to arrest the burglars at the earliest.
In Dec 2024, articles worth Rs1 lakh were stolen from cars parked on the roadside in different parts of Nashik city. Suspects smashed windows of the two to steal the valuables.
