The state government has declared a public holiday on April 10 to all government offices, schools and colleges in view of the Lok Sabha polls on that day.

The state government has declared a public holiday on April 10 to all government offices, schools and colleges in view of the Lok Sabha polls on that day. The holiday will not, however, apply to personnel working in emergency and essential services such as police, fire and emergency services, hospitals, and to those government staff deployed for election related duties.

80,676 voters in Ngp dist increased
The total number of voters in the district has increased by 80,676, according to fresh data released by the district election office. The revised figure of voters in the district is 35,74,810, out of which 18,99,395 voters will be part of Nagpur Lok Sabha constituency. The number of voters in Ramtek LS seat is 16,75,415. Interestingly, the Kamptee assembly segment in Nagpur Lok Sabha has emerged as the largest segment in terms of voters' numbers after publication of the revised list. The number of voters from this assembly constituency stands to 3,60,973. As per the new statistics, the number of voters in Katol is 2,43,259, Saoner 2,65,505, Hingna 2,84,158, Umrer 2,77,808, Nagpur South-West 3,25,620, Nagpur South 3,27,946, Nagpur East 3,13,442, Nagpur Central 2,84,352, Nagpur West 3,19,760, Nagpur North 3,28,275 and Ramtek 2,43,712. As per the revised voters list, of the 35,74,810 voters as many as 91.24 % voters have voter ID cards.
CM on Vidarbha tour
Chief minister Prithviraj Chavan will be on Vidarbha tour visiting Risod (Washim), Akola and Nagpur on April 3. After attending public meetings in Risod and Akola, Chavan will reach Nagpur at 6.30pm. He will stay at his official bungalow Ramgiri.
Notices to three candidates
District Election officer for Ramtek Lok Sabha Panjabrao Wankhede has served notices to three contestants Maya Chawre (Samajwadi Party), Ganesh Patil of Gondwana Gantantra Party and Forward Bloc's Sandesh Bhalekar for not submitting election expenditure on Wednesday.
