GONDIA: The agitation organized by the Bhrashtachar Nirmulan Sameettee to support
Anna Hazare evoked an enthusiastic response on Tuesday. Students, including girls, were seen on busy streets and squares taking signatures of citizens favoring the move.
A large number of citizens gathered in front of the office of the Gondia SDO under the leadership of Ranjeetbhai Jassani and Dr Suresh Dhurwe.
While twelve senior citizens began a chain hunger strike, youngsters collected more than 2,000 signatures.
A joint committee comprising various social organizations was formed for the purpose. The agitation began with a phrabhat pheri on August 9. A candle march was also held on August 10.
