‘Ample opportunities for youths in film industry’

NAGPUR: Noted actors Charudatta Bhagwat and Shweta Pendse on Tuesday said the youngsters have immense opportunities in various arenas of film world provided they are ready to slog it out for some years to gain name and fame.
Interacting with the media in an open forum as part of the fifth ‘Maay Marathi Chitrapat Mahotsav’, organized by Nirzar Cine Club at Panchsheel Cinema, Pravin and Shweta said fields like direction, write, choreographer, cinematographer and acting offer ample opportunities to talent.Therefore, those have artistic capability in them and ready with work hard should try their hand, they said.
Charudatta asked them to gain general knowledge and read history of cinema which is easily available on the internet. He urged the audience to join other forums which discuss films and theatre. This will make it easy to connect with people who share similar interests. Shweta said the budding artistes should be a learner all through life as there are many untouched areas which they could tap.
Charudatta and Shweta reminisced their childhood days in the city. Charudatta was ecstatic talking about his film being screened at the cinema hall where he watched many movies as a kid. He was glad to see Marathi cinema was not only alive in this generation but also catching attention of even the other language filmmakers.
Shweta talked about her first film project as a writer of Marathi movie Bardo, a story of how the dreams of villagers were realized after a schoolteacher enters their life and change their fortunes. It was featured at the ongoing MAMI Mumbai Film Festival.
Films Maska, Sun Sambhala Patlin Bai, Raid, Gosht Eka Ranichi and Memori Card were screened on the fifth day of ‘Maay Marathi Chitrapat Mahotsav’ at Panchsheel.
At the outset, executive president of Nirzar Samir Nafde introduced president of the club Pravin Mahajan, Marathi movie Poshter Boyz fame Charudatta Bhagwat, Asa Saasar Surekh Bai actor Shweta Pendse, director Suchita Shabbir and producer Madhuri Ashirgade on stage.
