Mandya ZP CEO to officers: Prepare action plan for 2026-27 panchayat grants
Mandya: Zilla panchayat chief executive officer KR Nandini has directed all taluk panchayat executive officers in the district to prepare action plans for the 2026-27 taluk panchayat grants by prioritising essential development works and allocating only the required amount of funds for each project.
Chairing a video conference on Saturday, Nandini stressed the importance of transparency and need-based planning. She instructed officials to ensure that taluk-level officers of the departments concerned personally inspect proposed work sites and submit GPS-enabled photographs depicting the present condition of the locations before finalising project proposals.
Reviewing the implementation of the 15th Finance Commission scheme, she directed officials to utilise unspent grants and accrued interest strictly in accordance with the prescribed guidelines.
Addressing pending payments under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), she said funds were released to clear outstanding material costs from previous financial years.
Nandini also reviewed the progress of various housing schemes and directed officials to cancel sanctioned houses that have not started as per govt norms. “Proposals for land allocation to site-less beneficiaries should be submitted to the revenue department, while reports on unsuitable land parcels must be furnished without delay,” she said. She further instructed TP executive officers to accelerate tax collection efforts and achieve a monthly target of 10% of the current year’s demand during the 2026-27 financial year.
