Heritage Commissioner issues show-cause notice to archaeology director

MYSORE: Two days after Archaeology director R Gopal made a startling revelation, department of Heritage commissioner P S Vastrad has issued a show-cause notice to the officer on Saturday.
Gopal in a public function claimed that Archaeology department is under mafia which has left district authorities and department officials fuming.
In a release, Vastrad said several projects of 13th finance plans are underway in the department and as per rules the works are being done through third party agency.
The works are being monitored regularly and also quality check is being done before releasing money to the agency stage by stage.
So far there has been no complaint or allegation about any works in the department.
We have taken up the issue seriously and have asked explanation from the director.
