MYSORE: A day after three persons helped police to nab a chain snatcher, the city's top cop M A Saleemhonoured
the trio at his office by giving them appreciation certificate on Thursday. Saleem applauded them for their daring efforts in nabbing the miscreant within few minutes after the crime. The police commissioner, on the occasion, appealed Mohammed Nayaz, a furniture dealer, Raghukumar, an engineering student and K Manjunath, a cop, to work as traffic wardens and continue their association with the police department.
Nayaz told TOI that he saw his mother in Indravathi, the victim, and it motivated him to give a chase to chain snatcher. He felt happy that police recognized our effort.
The commissioner said in the last two weeks, three similar cases have been solved in Mysore. In all the cases miscreants were caught red-handed soon after committing the crime. First, a youth after snatching a chain from a woman in N R Mohalla police limits, was caught a group of police in mufti ten days ago. Accused Mubarak, who has criminal records, has been remanded to judicial custody. Secondly, Mahesh was nabbed by a furniture dealer in Nazarbad on Wednesday. Saleem however didn't disclose the latest incident saying they are still verifying. The case was detected late in the evening on Wednesday.
