Two persons were arrested for stabbing a
Shiv Sena functionary at Wagle Estate on Friday night. The
Sena member, Dharmendra Choubey, was stabbed by five persons in his stomach and was hit with a sharp weapon on his head.
According to the police, the accused Jafar and his friend Peru Ali and three others had attacked Choubey following a heated argument. Choubey had opposed to anti-social elements hanging out at Hazuri chowk daily.
This did not go down well with Jafar and his aides.
"Choubey was found lying in a pool of blood and was rushed to a nearby hospital. His condition is said to be stable," said senior police inspector A D Kshirsagar. The cops are on the lookout for the other accused.
