MUMBAI: With Slumdog Millionaire coming away with a rich haul at the Oscars, actor Anil Kapoor could not seem to contain his exhilaration. And he partied to it till he dropped.Once the awards ceremony got over, the actor attended the Governor's Ball, where he rubbed shoulders with Hollywood A-listers and from there, he went on to shimmy at two other parties, thrown by Madonna and Sir Elton John (the proceeds of his party normally go to a charity).
He was invited to a fourth one, too, organised by Fox Searchlight.
"It was amusing to bump into guys like Andy Garcia and Josh Brolin time and again,'' said Kapoor. "We kept saying, `Oh God, it's you again!' ''A R Rahman, however, chose to keep the celebrations to his family. Tanvi's father Ganesh Lonkar said, "We will go to the Disney amusement park for a day.''The cast and crew are also expected to do a round of media promotion for Slumdog, which is yet to be released in countries like Australia. after that, the first lot of the Slumdog cast and crew - actor Irrfan Khan and the kids is expected to return to the city on Wednesday.Kapoor told TOI that he would stay on in Los Angeles as he would have to help his son, Harsh, set up his apartment, sort out the gas connection and do some other "mundane jobs''. "I have flown to and from Mumbai four times in two months and I'm exhausted,'' the actor had said earlier.Rahman is expected to reach Chennai by Thursday and he will reach Mumbai at least by Saturday to attend the Filmfare Awards Night, where he has three nominations for Best Music Director for Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Ghajini and Jodhaa Akbar.According to Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star (India), till the last weekend, the film had raked in $160 million dollar worldwide.
