MUMBAI: The Mumbai crime branch on Thursday claimed to have cracked the burglary case in which an NRI was robbed of gold jewellery worth Rs 46 lakh. The crime branch unit led by inspector Feroz Patel arrested the victim Raja's driver Omprakash Saxena (28) and his brother-in-law Arkesh Rama (22) and recovered the entire booty from them.
On Monday, when Raja returned from gym, he found his house had been burgled.

Raja had shifted to Mumbai from the UK with his parents two years ago. Saxena was employed with them for the past one-and-a-half years.
Initially, cops thought the accused had got inside the flat through the bathroom as there were blood stains on the window and a rope was hanging from it. Joint commissioner of police (crime) Rakesh Maria said, "Raja's parents had gone to their hometown Rajkot in Gujarat when this incident occurred. The burglary seemed to be the handiwork of someone who knew Raja's schedule well, so we started investigating further.''
Inspector Milind Khetle detained Saxena for questioning. Saxena confessed to the crime and told the police the stolen goods were with Rama. Assistant commissioner Jalinder Khandagle said Saxena had got the duplicate keys to the house made a few months ago. The accused used those keys to enter the house, and to mislead the cops. Saxena smeared hen's blood on the window and hung a rope from it.
