‘Kolkata man was hired to kill Mikhail’

MUMBAI: Investigators probing the murder of Sheena Bora have learnt that her mother and main accused Indrani Mukerjea got in touch with someone in Kolkata to kill her son Michail Bora. But her plan to bump him off failed on four occasions. “We are trying to trace the person with whom Indrani planned to kill Michail sometime in 2014. Though the plan to kill him did not work out, tracing the person will help us in this probe.The person who was hired to kill Michail is not from Maharashtra,” a Khar police officer told TOI.
About Sujit Sarkar, the bodyguard of a Kolkata-based businessman, brought to Khar police station on Thursday, a senior IPS officer said, “We have not arrested or detained Sarkar. He has been brought in for questioning.” Asked if Sarkar is being questioned to check whether he is the “fourth person” who aided Indrani in the crime on April 24, 2012 and whether he was the one whom she later approached to work out the plan to kill Michail, a senior IPS officer said they are verifying it.
