MUMBAI: Its raining films in Mumbai. Even before the dust settles on the Mumbai Academy of Moving Images 11th film festival (October 25-November 5), the Mumbai International Children's Film Festival is all set to begin.
The film festival in its first edition is an initiative of the Ryan foundation. "One of our aims is to create a quality cinematic experience for children, which will also expose them to cultures from around the world,'' said Ryan Foundation director Grace Pinto.
The festival, which begins on November 6, will screen over 150 films from 50 countries.

The foundation has also instituted two awards; Best Children Feature Film and Best Animation Film.
The Turkish film `Momo, The Bogey Man' will be the inaugural one. "Eminent film personalities like Sudhir Mishra, Amol Gupte, John Lee, academy award winner Megan Mylan constitute our jury. This being a children's film festival, the jury will also be accompanied by two children who will give their feedback to the jury,'' said Utkarsh Marwah, festival director. The festival is open to all; those interested must register two days in advance.
