Aurangabad: Assistant director of prosecution, Nandkishor Chitlange (57), was arrested by the Aurangabad Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh in exchange for giving his approval for the prosecution of revenue officials in a land-grab case.
Chitlange is also currently handling the charge of deputy director of the Assistant Director and Public Prosecutor’s (ADPP) office.
Prakash Kulkarni, the deputy superintendent of police (ACB), said that in 2014 the complainant had lodged a complaint with the Paithan police against Paithan tehsildar, Rajiv Shinde, talathis Tukaram Sanap, Syed Habib Imam and others for grabbing five acres of his land in Chittegaon, valued at around Rs 5 crore. The Paithan police had registered a case.
