Mumbai: A car driver lost control on Sion bridge, jumped the divider and hit a bike, killing a 36-year-old man on the pillion, late last Sunday. Sion police lodged an FIR against the car owner for causing death due to negligence and rash driving.
Polic said Abu Faizan Ehsanul Haq Ansari (34) and his friend, Suhail Ansari, both residents of Kurla, were returning home from work on a bike. Suhail was on the pillion. According to Abu's complaint, as they neared the junction towards Chembur, a car driven by Byculla resident Chandulal Virchand Jain veered into their lane on Sion bridge and crashed into them. The impact flung both men onto the road, leaving Suhail grievously injured and unconscious. He was rushed to Sion Hospital, where he was declared dead. Abu suffered a leg fracture. tnn
