MUMBAI: Over 110 leading and renowned Indian artists contributed their paintings for a show in Mumbai to raise funds for cancer patients. The artists included K H Ara, F N Souza, Akbar Padamsee, Badri Narayan, Lalu Prasad Shaw, Shuvaprassana, Shipra Bhattacharyya, Prafulla Dahanukar, Subrata Gangopadhyay, Sanjay Bhattacharjya, Samir Mondal and others.

The show presented by Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) is the Ninth Annual Art Exhibition 'Colours of Life' - Expressions of Life and is on till June 22 at The Viewing Room in Colaba.
Piali Syam, Curator of 'Colours of Life' said the task of putting together the art collection covers a large spectrum of styles, media and price range. "It gives every art lover an opportunity to own a piece of art without having to stretch their budget."
She points out that the participating artists have over the years become an integral part of CPAA and without their contribution the organisation's endeavour to support cancer patients in a holistic manner would remain unfulfilled.
Artist Nayaana Kanodia says, "I look forward each year to the annual show of Colors of Life which makes it possible to reach out to lakhs of people afflicted with cancer who have no means to treat themselves, leave alone the diagnostic detection and rehabilitation."
Eminent artist Samir Mondal who has been part of this show since its inception says "It's always meaningful to work for a good cause. Over the years I have received a lot from the society and it's time for me to give back something in my own capacity."
CPAA's founder chairman and CEO Mr Y K Sapru says, "The art exhibition for CPAA is one of the biggest and most prestigious event of our organisation. This annual event helps CPAA raise substantial amount of money which goes a long way in helping needy patients. We are extremely grateful to our artists who come forward every year to support our cause. We look forward to continuous support from the artists' fraternity to our organisation."
