Palghar: Two students, of classes 9 and 10, died by suicide at a private ashramshala in Ambiste, Wada taluka, early Thursday morning. The deceased were identified as Devidas Parshuram Navle (Class 10, from Mokhada–Biwalpada) and Manoj Sitaram Vad (Class 9, from Dapti) in Palghar. According to reports, the boys used a clothes-drying rope to hang themselves inside the hostel premises.Officials, including the project officers, additional superintendent of police, and Palghar MP Hemant Savara (BJP) visited the incident site for inspection. While the reason behind the suicides remains unclear, parents and locals have strongly criticised the negligence of authorities, questioning the safety and supervision mechanisms in tribal residential schools across Palghar district.Father of Manoj said his son was studying in this ashramshala since class 1. We met him during the recent Ganeshotsav holidays when he had come home. This incident is very sudden and shocking. Police officials said they have registered an accidental death report (ADR) and are investigating further.
