Cleared3 of family among 4 killed as speeding car crashes into tree in Saharanpur

Bijnor: Three members of a family were among four men killed on Saturday evening when the driver lost control of their car at a sharp bend and slammed into a tree near Fatehpur Kala village in the Behat area of Saharanpur, police said.The impact was so severe that two occupants were thrown out of the vehicle, while the other two remained trapped inside the mangled car.Eyewitness Sanjay Chauhan of Fatehpur Kalan said the car was moving at a very high speed and described the crash as producing "a loud explosion-like sound". Local residents and police personnel struggled for a long time to retrieve the bodies from the wreckage.The deceased were siblings Vijay Kumar (30) and Dr Manish Kumar (28) of Saharanpur's Tilafra village, their uncle Jitendra Singh (45) from Mahmoodpur Tiwai, and Manish's friend Sonu Kumar (30) from Muzaffarabad.Vijay ran a medical store near Shakambhari Devi, while Dr Manish operated a clinic in Muzaffarabad. Jitendra Singh worked as a painter, and Sonu Kumar was a confectioner."Police confirmed that overspeeding led to the accident. The car first hit an iron pole standing by the roadside and then crashed into a tree on Shakambhari Road," said Vaibhav Pandey, circle officer.
