24yo man tied to tree in Bijnor village, cross FIRs filed

Bijnor: Cross FIRs were registered in Afzalgarh after a video showing a 24-year-old tied to a tree in Shivpuri village was widely circulated on social media.Taking cognisance of the footage, police registered a case under Section 192 of BNS against the accused on the complaint by the victim's mother and launched an investigation.Police said the incident happened on Wednesday when Lokendra Singh (24) allegedly entered the enclosure of Jaswant Singh (48), son of Natthu Singh, in the same village, and attempted to steal keys and engine-related equipment kept near an engine.Jaswant Singh allegedly caught Lokendra, tied him to a tree and informed the police, who soon reached the spot and freed him. The cops then took Lokendra to the police station.Based on a complaint by Lokendra's mother, Radha Devi, a case of assault was registered against Jaswant Singh. Separately, on Jaswant Singh's complaint, a theft case was also lodged against Lokendra.Afzalgarh SHO Ram Pratap Singh said complaints have been received from both sides.
