Three of family killed in accident in Ramanathapuram district
Madurai: A 60-year-old man, his daughter and her husband were killed after a car collided with a two-wheeler near the Kombuthi road junction in Ramanathapuram district on Saturday.
Police identified the deceased as S Ladasamy, of Puliampatti near Thiruppullani, P Panchavarnam, 25, and her husband G Pullani, 30, of Devipattinam.
Police said Ladasamy was riding a two-wheeler with his daughter and son-in-law from Thiruppullani to Ervadi. When Ladasamy attempted to cross the road near the Kombuthi junction, a car travelling from Ervadi Dargah towards Keelakarai collided with the vehicle. All three of them were thrown off the bike and died on the spot, police said.
Ervadi Dargah police sent the bodies to the Ramanathapuram Govt Medical College Hospital for postmortem. They registered a case against car driver Mansoor Ali, 42, of Karnataka.
