Ludhiana: Once again, candidates appearing for the Joint Engineering Examination (JEE Mains) are hassled this year too, as the city still does not have any examination centre for the JEE Mains -- for selection to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs) -- being held on Sunday. This year, around 10 lakh candidates from across the country, and approximately 4,000 candidates from the city, will appear for the exam.
However, this year too, Ludhiana candidates will have to travel to Chandigarh, Amritsar, and Bathinda to their centres, which is surely going to add to their woes.
Shubham Singla, who is attempting the examination for the second time, said: "This exam is my future, and it would be helpful if the centre was in Ludhiana itself. But now, I have to reduce my study time for travelling, and I will not be able to put in my best efforts, because of fatigue."
Jatin Tripathi, who has just written his +2 exam, said: "My examination centre is in Bathinda, the city I have never been to. I am already tense for the exam, and searching the centre in an unknown city is going to make me panic even more. A big city like Ludhiana should have an examination centre."
Amandeep Singh, who too has appeared for his +2 exam recently, said: "This is my first attempt. I am really nervous, and writing the exam in another city makes me more nervous. Ludhiana should have its own centre, so that no one faces any problem, as the matter is about our future."
