Temple will pave way for Ram Rajya: VHP chief
Alok Kumar
LUCKNOW: VHP working president Alok Kumar said the construction of Ram temple won’t be an end in itself since the larger goal was always to establish “Ramatva”, paving the way for “Ram Rajya”.
“There was no poverty and illness during the reign of Ram. Ramatva will descend by way of a harmonious society based on equality, where every person will be treated with dignity,” Kumar told reporters in Lucknow, underscoring VHP’s professed objective to work for the uplift of Dalits and tribals.

“VHP will act as a bridge between the government welfare scheme and beneficiaries,” he said. Kumar said Ram Rajya could, however, be achieved only when the government and all sections of society joined hands.
“Lord Ram constantly strived for social harmony during his 14-year exile. He walked barefoot to visit all sections of the people, gave them love and consolidated society. VHP is tirelessly working on the same ideals to bring about a harmonious society. We shall build a nation that will embrace the ahalayas, shabris and nishadrajs (backward castes) and remove distinctions of high or low. We shall have a society where there would be no appeasement or exploitation,” Kumar said.
The VHP chief said everyone needed to be assured about food, clothing, shelter and education. “Family values should also be respected and everybody should have the opportunity to elevate themselves to realise the supreme goal,” he said, stressing that “ekal vidyalayas” operated by VHP would spread education and promote cleanliness, organic agriculture and self-sufficiency.
