LUCKNOW: It comes as a pre-Diwali bonanza for nearly 16 lakh state employees. Setting their festive mood, chief minister Mayawati has announced an ad hoc bonus equal to the pay of one month for them, including those working as casual and daily-wage employees for the year of 2009-10.
Fifty per cent of the bonus will be paid cash along with the salary in the month of November and the remaining will be deposited with their provident fund (PF).
Those without PF account will be given their paid-up bonus in the form of a National Savings Certificate (NSC). However, those who retired on March 31, 2010, or would retire on April 30, 2011, would be paid full amount of their bonus in cash.
However, no bonus will be paid to such employees who are facing any disciplinary proceedings and a legal case pending before the court.
The payment of bonus in such cases will be subject to the recommendations of the disciplinary committees and the outcome of the court orders, the government order (GO) says.
