Man shoots self at Shaheed Smarak

LUCKNOW: A 35-year-old man Rahul Pathak, shot himself with his licensed pistol at Shaheed Smarak park under Wazir Ganj police station, around 11am on Tuesday. Pathak was rushed to the trauma centre where he died.
Chinhat resident Pathak worked for a Delhi-based firm and lived with his wife Rachna, 30 who is nine months pregnant and 3-year-old daughter Pari.His father is is principal at Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Deoria.
Pathak’s friend Prashant was near him when he shot himself. Prashant told police he was driving the bike with Pathak riding pillion and talking on his mobile phone on way to the court to rectify papers of a property. On reaching court, Pathak asked Prashant to drive towards Shaheed Smarak. Pathak went into the park as Prashant waited and a few minutes later saw people coming out screaming after the former shot himself.
Talking to reporters, Prashant said, “Rahul Pathak was involved in real estate business and was disturbed after facing loss.”
