History-sheeter makes inmates do sit-ups in UP jail, video goes viral

LUCKNOW: A video of a history-sheeter lodged in Rae Bareli jail making three undertrials do sit-ups and slap each other went viral on Wednesday. Taking cognizance of the video, the prison administration ordered inquiry against jail officials by superintendent of jails, Lucknow.
The 1.12 minute video, shot on June 16, shows history-sheeter Akash Yadav making three inmates Dileep, Dharmendra and Bhaskar do 50 sit-ups and then slap each other.
It shows history-sheeter-Akash Yadav inside Rae Bareli jail. Yadav is seen instructing three other inmates identified as-Dileep , Dharmendra and Bhaskar to do 50-sit-ups first, and then also slap each other.
"We recovered two phones, a SIM card, and a charger from Yadav's barrack," said Rae Bareli SP, Sunil Kumar Singh, after a raid.
DIG (prisons) Umesh Srivastava said Yadav will be shifted to a west UP jail.
In 2018, November also a video from RaeBareli jail was leaked in which shooter-Anshu Dixit was seen having alcohol and also threatening a trader.
