Lucknow: In a first, Lucknow-based dastango (storyteller) Himanshu Bajpai will be narrating the story of a sportsman – the legendary hockey player KD Singh 'Babu'– in the city on November 21.
Speaking about what led to an idea of researching and planning to organise the event in memory of Babu, Bajpai said, “This has been my dream project. It is my sense of responsibility towards Lucknow and great personalities like KD Singh 'Babu' to tell their stories to the masses through my oratory skills.
With ‘Dastan KD Singh 'Babu' Ki’, my effort is to present a research-based narrative of the sports legend so that more people, especially the youth of Lucknow and beyond, know about him and his greatness.”
Bajpai is known for his 'dastangois' (art of storytelling) on Rani Laxmi Bai, Indian freedom movement, and many other personalities but it is his first ever on a sportsperson.
