LUCKNOW: Angry group of villagers protested against their rivals on Sunday after staging body of a man in a village in Bakshi Ka Talab. The angry mob torched three motorcycles and damaged the house belonging to their rivals. Heavy police force had to be deployed in the village.
A resident of Hardaurpur area, 61-year-old milkman Ashok Kumar was returning home after delivering milk on Saturday evening on his bicycle.
While crossing Chandrika Devi temple road, a Mahindra Scorpio rammed his bicycle at Mahipatpur village and fled from the scene. Later, the deceased's kin met in charge of BKT police station inspector Vinod Yadav and pointed fingers at five brothers Narrendra, Shiv Prasad, Bhanu Pratap, Uday Pratap and Arvind Pratap. The five reside at Kathvara village located close to deceased's village.
Police carried out probes to trace the SUV and established link between the accused and the incident. While one brother was arrested, rest managed to escape. The group of angry villagers, meanwhile, after coming back from the KGMU mortuary on Sunday, attacked the property belonging to the accused persons.
