Lucknow: To expedite the development of the Banke Bihari corridor in Vrindavan, the local administration has made an exhaustive roadmap to rehabilitate 275 families which will be affected by the project, officials said.
To ensure that no family is left homeless or without shelter, the state govt is planning to provide 325-350 units to the affected families, they added.
Having identified the land in Rukmini Vihar and Sunrakh Bangar, the local administration is planning to provide a well-planned residential colony to house the affected families.
Mathura district magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh said that a one-bedroom or two-bedroom kitchen unit would be provided to the families, according to the findings of the survey in the colony.
The land acquisition exercise, required to give a complete makeover to the Banke Bihari religious shrine, would affect 275 property owners of whom 200 operate shops.
"The shopkeepers will also be entitled to a shop within the corridor and have been assured of allotment of commercial units," an official said.
Suitable compensation would be offered to owners of land and buildings. Land is being acquired by the Mathura-Vrindavan development authority to rehabilitate affected families.
Currently, the area where the temple of Lord Krishna is situated is extremely congested and chances of untoward incidents often arise due to overcrowding, which is a major challenge to the administration.
