Amarmani denied bail

basti: bail petition of sacked uttar pradesh minister amarmani tripathi, who had been allegedly involved in the kidnapping of a businessman's son here on december 6, was rejected by cjm bm gupta on friday. tripathi was, later, sent to judicial custody. the prosecution charged the sacked minister with hatching a conspiracy to abduct rahul maddhesia (16), a student of st basil's school here, on december 6.tripathi was also accused of giving shelter to one sandeep tripathi and his four accomplices, who were involved in the kidnapping, at his 14 cantt road residence in lucknow. rahul was recovered by the stf personnel from the same house on december 11. according to the counsel of tripathi, a bail petition had been moved in the district court which would be taken up for hearing on december 24.
