Lucknow: Alambagh police unearthed a job racket and arrest of four persons who allegedly hoodwinked youths from several districts promising them jobs in National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC).
The accused, Surendar Pratap Pandey, Gopal Yadav, Ramnath and Lalta Singh were arrested from Qaiserbagh and Krishnanagar areas after Mathura resident Vikram Singh lodged a written complaint in Alambagh police station.

Allegedly duped of Rs 8 lakh with the promise of job in NTPC, Vikram named 10 persons in the FIR claiming that, “The group comprised frauds from several districts including from other states like J&K and Delhi.”
He said, “16 youth were contacted by the accused, posing as senior government officials and extorted money on the pretext of job in NTPC. Lalta Singh impersonated managing director of NTPC and Ramanth posed as minister and took Rs 2.5 lakh to 8 lakh from score of youth, hailing from different district. On November 24, we all were called to Allahabad at NTPC office for interview, but none of the accused was there. When contacted, their phone was switched off. Eventually, we came to Lucknow and filed a written complaint at Alambagh police station," he added.
According to SHO Vimal Kumar Singh, “Several fake documents, letter heads, official government stamps, forge recommendation letters of ministers and officials along with some cash were recovered from the accused. We have managed to arrest four personnel in the matter, while six including Asrar of Delhi, Rakesh of Srinagar, kingpin of the fake job racket Murari from Mathura, Sushil, Lokendra and Dharmendra Singh of Rae Bareli are on the run,” he said.
All the accused were booked for 420 (cheating), 465 (Punishment for forgery) 467(Forgery of valuable security, will, etc.) 468 (Forgery for purpose of cheating),471(Using as genuine a forged document) 472 and 473 (Making or possessing counterfeit seal, etc., with intent to commit forgery), said police.
