Port Blair flight returns to Kol, via Bhubaneswar, 8 hrs later
Kolkata: Chaos reigned at the Kolkata airport on Saturday evening as a group of flyers staged a demonstration after a Kolkata-Port Blair Vistara flight, carrying 180 passengers, returned to the city after flying several hours among three airports due to poor weather over Andaman and Nicobar and Kolkata.
A packed UK747 had flown out of the city around 9am on Saturday but couldn’t land in Port Blair after the two-and-a-half-hour journey because of poor weather.

It turned back and tried to return to Kolkata but the afternoon rain and thundershower prevented it from landing here. The pilot was forced to take the flight to Bhubaneswar 40 minutes away. The flight returned to Kolkata around 5pm, even as passengers stuck inside the aircraft through the day fumed in anger.
Vistara issued multiple apologies on social media and inflight announcements, but it couldn’t calm down the flyers.
Many of them vented their frustration at the cabin crew and on social media, having been stuck inside the flight throughout the day and failing to reach their destination.
